SMS Messaging from the SMS Backroom
ALTONet's online SMS service allows subscribers to send SMS messages direct from the SMS backroom, or from their e-mail program to any local or international cell phone number.

Starting at only R0.33 per SMS message, the ALTONet online SMS service is the most cost effective method of sending SMS messages.*

SMS Messaging from a Remote Website
SMS messaging from a remote web site allows the end user to send custom SMS message from their own website. This allows web developers to develop custom SMS solutions that run using the ALTONet sms SMS service transparently.

This service also allows the web developer / website owner to allow his users to send SMS's without having to give them his SMS backroom login.

SMS Reminders
With ALTONet's SMS reminder service, you will never forget a birthday, anniversary or important meeting ever again! In fact, you can use the SMS reminder service to remind you of just about anything. The SMS reminder service will send you a SMS reminder on a specific date and at a specific time.

SMS POP Notification
The SMS POP Notification service sends a custom designed SMS message to the user each time an e-mail message is received by a specified e-mail address.

Subscribers to ALTONet's SMS service can specify in their SMS backroom exactly which e-mail addresses they wish to receive SMS notifications on. The SMS POP Notification service works on both ALTONet dial-up e-mail addresses as well as any e-mail address hosted by ALTONet.

SMS Messages from your Computer
ALTONet's online SMS service allows subscribers to send SMS messages directly from their own computer. The application makes use of standard Internet systems, so no configuration is needed! The SMS's are also logged into your backroom so you can check them at any stage (great for parents wanting to check what their children are sending).

SMS Lists Service
With ALTONet's SMS list service, clients can design and manage their own SMS lists, very much in the same way as they manage their e-mail lists. Simply by adding cell phone numbers to the SMS list, clients can send a single SMS message to a number of cell phone numbers.

This service is ideal for clients who need to send the same message to a number of people on a regular basis, or clients wishing to inform their clients of specials, discounts, or updates to their website via an SMS message.

e-Mailbox Status Messages
The e-mailbox status allows you to have an SMS sent to your cell phone detailing how many e-mail messages are in your mailbox along with the total file size of all the e-mail messages combined.

This service is a nice way to get an overview of your e-mail account on a regular basis without having to actually be in front of a computer.

Email to SMS
The e-mail to SMS service allows you to send an e-mail message from a predefined e-mail address and have it delivered to any cell phone in the world via SMS.

As ALTONet's SMS service has an astonishing 8000 character capacity, you do not need to limit your e-mail message to 160 characters as with other similar services. Once your message has been sent to the ALTONet server, the message will automatically be broken down and sent out via the required number of SMS messages.

The e-mail to SMS service also allows you to send an e-mail message to your SMS list, where the message will then be sent out to each cell phone number on your list. Logging into your SMS backroom is no longer required to send an SMS message via the ALTONet SMS service, as it can all be done right from your PC's e-mail program.

Please Note: • When sending SMS message to an SMS list, each recipient on the list is counted as one (1) SMS message. In other words, if you send an SMS message to an SMS list containing ten (10) cell phone numbers, you will be using ten (10) SMS message credits. • When sending messages of over 160 characters, your message will be broken up into multiple SMS messages consisting of 160 characters each. Each SMS used to send out large messages will count as 1 SMS credit. • The minimum number of SMS messages that can be purchased at any one time is 25.
